The University of Wyoming Cowboy golf team concluded the final 18 holes on Tuesday at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Collegiate Classic. Playing a difficult, windy course that produced only one individual event finish under par in the entire field, the Cowboys moved up one place in the standings with a final round of 303 (+15) and finished 14th in the tightly grouped 16-team field.

"Nearly every tournament round we have had a different guy with the low score on our team," said Cowboy head coach Joe Jensen. "That is a good thing because it shows what they are all capable of, but it also shows our lack of consistent play.

"This was a good tournament, on a good course and we enjoyed playing with this field. The weather limited our practice coming into these rounds, but I'm hopeful that as we progress into our schedule that we will get our feet under us and play more consistent golf."

Arkansas State, who Wyoming beat earlier this season at Louisville, won the team title with a three-round total of 888, one stroke better than runner-up Houston. UW finished with 914 strokes, three shots behind Northern Colorado who finished 13th.

Wyoming junior Eric Baily followed up two solid first day rounds with a score of 71 (-1) on Tuesday and tied for 10th out of 86 individuals. Baily's round of 71 is his season low, and gave him his third (Nebraska Fairway Club Invitational, Louisville Intercollegiate) Top-10 finish of the season. Freshman Dave Stewart, who shot scores of 74 and 72 on Monday, was unable to keep his momentum and fell in the standings with a final round of 83. The Cowboys also had a score of 75 from redshirt junior Dan Silva on Tuesday.

UALR's Patrick Sullivan used his home course experience at Chenal to win medalist honors by eight strokes, and was the only golfer to finish the tournament at or under par with a score of 209 (-7). Mauricio Tamez of Oral Roberts placed second at 217 (+1).

The 54-hole UALR Collegiate Classic was played at the Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark. Chenal plays to a par of 72 and measures 7,221 yards.

Next up for Wyoming is the UC-Santa Barbara Bite Classic, April 4-5 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
