Cowboy Golf Concludes the Mountain West Championship

The University of Wyoming men's golf team finished the final round of the Mountain West Championship with a 298 (+14) on the Omni Tucson National - Catalina Course in Tucson, Ariz. Wyoming finished in eighth place in the 11-team field. The Cowboys shot a 295 (+11) in the first round, 288 (+4) in the second for a three-round total of 881 (+29). Junior Kamrin Allen and freshman Glenn Workman both tied for 19th place. Allen earned his 11th career top-25 finish and Workman notched his third.

"This is a young team and the pressure got to us a bit but we had a good solid finish," UW head coach Joe Jensen said. "We finished in eighth place and I am certainly encouraged for the future of this team. We built a solid foundation this year and made some great progress so I am very pleased with that."

Allen and Workman both concluded the championship tied for 19th place in the 55-man field with totals of 216 (+3). Allen fired a 71 (E) and Workman shot a 75 (+4) in the final round of the championship.

Sophomore Ryan Wallen finished the final round with a score of 74 (+3). He finished in 40th place with a total scorecard of 223 (+10). Freshman Drew McCullough finished the tournament in 48th place at 227 (+14). Redshirt freshman Arron Lickteig finished up for the Cowboys with a three-round total of 231 (+18).

San Diego State won the team title after the final round with an 835 (-17). UNLV came in at second place at 836 (-16) and Nevada in third with a tally of 842 (-10). UNLV's Kurt Kitayama won individuals title with a 202 (-11).
