Cowboys Finish Fourth at Battle in the Tetons

The University of Wyoming men's golf team finished fourth after Tuesday's final round of the Battle in the Tetons in Victor, Idaho, at Headwaters Country Club. UW finished the tournament with a team score of 874 (+10) and junior Kamrin Allen led the Cowboys with a total score of 217 (+1) to tie for ninth individually.

"We struggled out there today but it was good training for us," Wyoming Head Coach Joe Jensen said. "I saw good things out there today but with four freshmen we need to get organized and compete better. It is going to take some time to figure out the best team but I believe we have the guys for a solid team."

The Cowboys combined for a tally of 299 (+11) during the final round, Allen paced the team at 74 (+2). Sophomore Ryan Wallen carded 77 (+5) for 13th. Freshmen Drew McCullough tied for 18th, Glenn Workman followed tied for 20th and Arron Lickteig tied for 28th.

Freshman Quintin Pope, playing as an individual, placed sixth place with a score of 214 (-2) after shooting an even-par 72 Tuesday. He notched a 71 (-1) in both rounds on Monday. Senior Cameron Lindell, playing as an individual, tied for 28th hitting a 75 (+3) on Tuesday. He tallied an 81 (+9) and 72 for Monday's rounds.

Wyoming resumes competition Saturday and Sunday at the USAFA Gene Miranda Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo.
