McCullough Leads the Field After the First Day of the Ram Masters Invitational

University of Wyoming freshman golfer Drew McCullough leads the 84-golfer field after the first two rounds of the Ram Masters Invitational shooting a 68 (-2) and 70 (E) for a total of 138 (-2). He ended the day by sinking his first career hole-in-one. Wyoming posted a team score of 589 (+29) on Monday. The Cowboys sit in ninth place in the 15-team field after shooting 288 (+8) in the morning and 301 (+21) in the afternoon at the Fort Collins Country Club.

"I'm very proud of how this group handled this tough course and the wind during the second round," Wyoming head coach Joe Jensen said. "I know we are only eight strokes behind fifth place and we would like to catch some of these teams. We had a great week of training and we just need to be more consistent in the third round to move up in the rankings."

McCullough leads the event by one stroke going into Tuesday's final round. Junior Kamrin Allen carded a 72 (+2) for round one and 75 (+5) in the second round, finishing day one tied for 29th. Sophomore Ryan Wallen is tied for 45th after shooting a 71 (+1) and 79 (+9) on the day.

Redshirt freshman Arron Lickteig, golfing as an individual, tallied a 75 (+5) for both rounds and is tied for 45th place. Freshman Glenn Workman sits tied for 58th after shooting a 154 (+14). Freshman Cameron Lindell posted a score of 156 (+16) and sits tied for 65th. Freshman Quintin Pope recorded a 162 (+22) for the day and is tied for 79th.

Colorado State leads the teams in first place with a score of 570 (+10) with a morning round of 283 (+3) and 287 (+7) for the afternoon. Denver University sits in second and five strokes back out of this 15-team field.

The tournament ends with a final round Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. MT.
