Cowboy Wrestling Falls To #20 Boise State

Wyoming fell to #20 Boise StateSaturday in Boise. Three Cowboys won their matches, including atechnical fall by Steven Schenk and an injury default victory byheavyweight Brad Steele. Boise State won the first three matches totake a 10-0 lead, but Steven Schenk posted a technical fall over JonTerry at 6:30 to make the score 10-5. But the Broncos came back to winthe next two matches, for a lead of 16-5. At heavyweight, freshman BradSteele won by injury default to cut the lead to 16-11. But Boise Statewon two of the last three matches to wrap up a 25-14 victory. CoreyHamrick was the only other Cowboy to win his match, winning 6-3 overCharlie Griggs. The Pokes did lose a couple of close matches, thatwould have really impacted the final outcome. Craig Rumsey lost hismatch at 197 pounds 5-4 to #9 Rusty Cook, Shay Wyman lost to Gabe Vigil9-7 and Mark Hamrick lost to Jay McGuffin 5-3.
