After earning a 13-6 lead, theWyoming wrestling team fell to BYU 19-16 in Provo.
The Cowboys won three of the first five matches in gaining aseven-point lead over the Cougars. But BYU won four of the last fivematches for the narrow victory. Going into the last match of the night,at heavyweight, the dual was tied at 16, but BYU senior Chris Millerdefeated Wyoming freshman Brad Steele 8-4 for the team dual victory.
Mark Hamrick pinned Chris Risenmay at 5:24 and Brian Wood earned amajor decision over Warren Harris 13-2 to give Wyoming a 13-6 lead.BYU came back to win the next three matches for a 16-13 lead with two togo. Craig Rumsey won his match at 197 pounds over Aric Turner 6-3 totie the dual at 16, but at heavyweight the Cougars prevailed.
#15 Corey Hamrick was the only other Cowboy to win his match, 6-4 overJose Enriquez. Nationally ranked Hamrick moved his record to 18-9, and9-2 in duals.
