Wyoming Sends Wrestlers To Southern Colorado Open

The University of Wyomingwrestling team sent nine of its wrestlers to the Southern Colorado Openthis past Saturday. The meet was hosted by the University of SouthernColorado.

Freshman Josh Hayek had the best day for the Cowboys, going 5-2 in the141 pound weight class. Also in the 141 pound weight class was RileyHughes, who went 2-2.

Wyoming had three individuals in the 133 pound weight class. FreshmenJ.W. Lazzari and Del Jimenez went 1-2, while fellow freshman CodyDeGroot went 2-2.

At 149 sophomore Bobby Thoman went 2-2, including one fall. In thesame class Ben Platt went 1-2 and Cory Brown was 0-2.

Heavyweight Brady Nielsen went 2-2, with his two wins coming by fall.One fall came at 1:42 and the other was at the 3:44 mark.

The Southern Colorado Open hosted a variety of schools from the region,including a number of Colorado schools.
