Laramie, Wyo. -
Head coach Mark Branch and the Cowboys have invited the public to attend the 2010-11 Wyoming Wrestling Barbecue on Saturday, April 30. The year-end celebration will be held in Laramie at the residence of Phil and Chris Pridmore from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $15 per person.
Cowboy fans will have the chance to mingle with the Wyoming coaches and wrestlers during the casual barbecue and catch the awards presentation afterwards. Branch and his staff will announce the recipients of Wyoming's team awards, including academic honorees and senior recognition.
The Cowboys placed 28th at the 2011 NCAA Championships on March 19, as two UW wrestlers earned All-America honors. 184-pounder Joe LeBlanc became just the third three-time All-American in Wyoming wrestling history, while Shane Onufer earned his first at 165 pounds. Two weeks earlier, UW earned its second-straight team title at the NCAA West Regional, including five individual titles for the Cowboys.
Reservations for the banquet must be made through assistant coach Travis Shufelt at (307) 766-3888 or at email@example.com by Sunday, April 24. Fans can also sponsor a student-athlete's dinner for $15.
