Sept. 25, 2013
LARAMIE, Wyo. - Wyoming wrestling fans will have the opportunity to watch the Cowboys take on a West Coast foe this season after it was announced that the dual matchup between the University of Wyoming wrestling team and Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. The matchup, set for Dec. 20, will take place one day later than previously announced.
The Cowboys will battle the Beavers on the road in a key non-conference dual for both programs. The last time Wyoming visited Oregon State was two seasons ago, when the Cowboys escaped with a 23-22 dual win that came down to criteria after the teams tied at 22 after 10 matches. An additional team point was given to UW thanks to tie-breaking procedures.
The Pac-12 Network provides six regional platforms for viewers. Fans should check with their cable or satellite providers to find out if the Pac-12 Network is available in their area.
Branch announces Brown vs. Gold Intrasquad Dual
In keeping with years of tradition, UW wrestling will host an intrasquad competition prior to opening the regular season. Cowboy head coach Mark Branch, who enters his sixth season in 2013, will split his squad into two teams for the Brown vs. Gold Intrasquad Dual. The competition is a good warm-up for the team, while helping the coaching staff determine starting lineups for regular-season duals.
The dual will take place Nov. 1 in the UniWyo Sports Complex, starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will be free and open to the public.
