LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The Wyoming Cowboys are teaming up with one of the nation's leading sporting event streaming sites, as UW Athletics announced a partnership with FloCasts on Monday.
The exclusive media event agreement will provide Cowboy fans across the nation with access to live streams of Wyoming home wrestling events, through FloWrestling.org.
"It's a great opportunity for Wyoming to gain exposure and have one of the premier wrestling sites to market our program," Wyoming head coach Mark Branch said. "It will give our fans and potential recruits a great opportunity to watch our team compete."
In addition to home duals and tournaments, many road events in which the Cowboys participate are scheduled to be streamed live by Flo. The subscription-based service offers two options for viewing. A monthly subscription is $20, while a yearly term is $150 ($12.50 per month). Some notable Wyoming road events streamed by Flo include the Reno Tournament of Champions and Southern Scuffle. Not all UW road contests will be available for broadcast, however.
"FloWrestling is ecstatic about its partnership with Wyoming Wrestling," FloCasts events director Joe Williamson said. "Wyoming boasts an exciting team, a dedicated fan base and a home schedule that has already started to generate interest. FloWrestling is prepared to take Wyoming Wrestling coverage to the next level."
Added Willie Saylor, site editor of FloWrestling: "Mark Branch has made the Cowboy brand exciting. It will be great to have Wyoming wrestling events as part of our live offerings for the entire country to see."
Along with live online broadcasts of all Wyoming home events, FloCasts will provide exclusive event marketing to UW wrestling, with video mentions, social media and banners. FloWrestling provides a home base for videos, news and happenings in the world of collegiate wrestling.
"Our partnership with FloWrestling will elevate the national profile of Wyoming wrestling and provide our fans with access to both national events and our great home schedule," Wyoming Director of Athletics Tom Burman said.
Former Wyoming wrestler L.J. Helbig serves as a FloWrestling event manager and will be on hand for Wyoming's home events. Helbig was a two-time conference champion wrestler for UW from 2010-13 and finished his career with 82 victories.
FloCasts is responsible for content on nationally renowned sites like FloWrestling, FloTrack, Gymnastike (gymnastics) and FloElite (elite fitness events).
