One of the West's best tournaments awaits the University of Wyoming wrestling team this weekend when the Pokes take on the field in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Wrestling begins Friday morning and continues through Saturday afternoon in the Las Vegas Convention Center. This season, the Cowboys will compete in a Las Vegas-based tournament for the 30th time. UW has gone every year since 1982 with the exception of two years, for a total of 29 times.

The event features wrestlers from 33 teams, including Air Force, Arizona State, Boise State, Cornell, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State and Oregon State, among others.
The Pokes made their 2013 debut in the national team rankings this week. InterMat, a tournament-based poll, has Wyoming as the 25th-rated team in the nation. Three Pokes are in the national individual rankings, including junior Tyler Cox (sixth at 125 pounds), junior Andy McCulley (14th at 157) and redshirt freshman Benjamin Stroh, who is 18th at 184.

7 p.m. - Quarterfinals and consolation rounds 2 and 3

Three Cowboys placed in the 2012 event, including Cox (sixth at 125 pounds), McCulley (third at 157) and Alfonso Hernandez, who was second at 197.
