Periodically during the 2005-06 season a different former UW Cowgirl basketball player will be featured. She will be asked to answer a variety of questions and will provide information on what has happened in her life since her playing days at Wyoming.

Lori (Kline) Waddell

On each current Cowgirl locker is a placard that lists their jersey number, followed by the names of all former Cowgirls who have worn that number. Above is an example.

Still ranks among the best in the Cowgirl record book, including blocks (1st), rebounds (3rd), games played (4th), points (7th), and other categories.

Lori graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology. Following that, she worked for 15 years as a speech therapist at a developmental center and is currently working for the school district in Cody, Wyoming.

A native of Calumet City, Illinois, she currently lives in Cody with her husband Tim Waddell (former Wyoming football player) and son Adam Waddell. Adam is a junior a Cody High School where he participates in varsity basketball and track. Lori still played basketball, volleyball, and softball until three years ago, when she suffered another ACL tear.

What affect did playing basketball have on your life?
"It changed my life in a huge way. After being raised in a suburb of Chicago, I came to UW and fought being homesick for two years (Coach Margie McDonald was big help with that). It provided me with the ability to travel and play ball while obtaining a high quality education. After meeting Tim and moving to Cody after graduation, I had pretty much decided that this is where I would like to raise a family and have not ever thought about moving back to the city environment."

Favorite memories while attending the University of Wyoming:
-Playing for Margie McDonald
-Playing on the built up floor in the Fieldhouse
-Playing for the first time in the Arena Auditorium
-Returning to the court after an ACL injury
-Learning a hook shot from Coach Brandenburg
-Successfully completing a degree and the basketball program
-Learning to love Wyoming
