"Tonight was a basketball game that I thought that TCU played at a very high level," said head coach Joe Legerski. "They executed well in the half court and shot the ball very well, all the things that we've been doing up to this point in time. You can see why they were picked to win this league. They took us out of what we wanted to do and have been doing in shooting the basketball. I was pleased with the play of Chaundra Sewell. She showed great energy with 18 points and nine rebounds. We talked about that this game was going to come down to how much help you had from everyone on the roster."
TCU score two quick baskets to begin the game to take a 4-0 lead. Randi Richardson would get the Cowgirls on the board with a three-point shot, and that would start a 7-2 run to give them their first lead of the game, 7-6.
