Cowgirl Basketball Team Falls to TCU

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team travelled to Fort Worth, Texas, this last Saturday, January 16, 1999, to face the TCU Horned Frogs in a conference matchup. Despite a career high 27 points from Rebecca Tomlin, the Cowgirls lost to TCU by a final score of 93-78.

TCU built a 45-34 halftime lead and then held on in the second half to outdistance UW.

Tomlin was 12 of 13 from the field for Wyoming and also pulled down a team high 10 rebounds. Three other Cowgirls scored in double figures as Carrie Bacon had 17 points, Molly Marso scored 15 and Shelby Hoffman hit 4 of 8 three-point shots for 12 points.

TCU was led in scoring by Misty Meadows and Amy Sutton who had 23 and 21 points respectively.

Wyoming once again had a high turnover total, with 19 miscues compared to TCU's 15.

The Cowgirls will be back in action this Saturday, January 23, when they host #8 ranked Colorado State in a 2:00 p.m. matchup.
