IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Aubrey Vandiver scored 20 points and Jodi Bolerjack added 17 to lead No. 21 Wyoming to a 66-64 victory over St. Joseph's on Saturday in the first round of the Hawkeye Challenge.
Wyoming (7-1) trailed 40-27 3 minutes into the second half before rallying to take their first lead, 55-53, on Vandiver's steal and layup with 15:30 left to play.
St. Joseph's (5-4) pulled within two points on a banked 3-pointer by Jenna Loschiavo with 8.2 seconds left, but could get no closer. Timisha Gomez's 75-footer at the buzzer came up short for St. Joseph's.
Amy Gillespie had 14 of her career-high 20 points in the first half to help St. Joseph's take a 35-25 lead at the break.
Wyoming advances to play Iowa in the championship game of the Challenge on Sunday, while St. Joseph's takes on Northern Illinois in the consolation game.
