Wyoming guard Megan McGuffey and TCU guard Natasha Lacy were named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week.
McGuffey, a 5-11 freshman from Cheyenne, Wyo., came off the bench to score 27 points in the Cowgirls' 78-60 victory over Idaho State. McGuffey also grabbed 10 rebounds, marking her first double-double of her career. She increased the Cowgirls lead in the second half, scoring 14 points and tallying five rebounds. She also tied her career high in minutes with 33.
For the week, McGuffey averaged 27.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, while dishing out two assists and two steals. She shot 53.8 percent from the field (7-for-13) and was 11-for-13 at the free-throw line (.846).
Lacy, a 5-10 junior from El Paso, Texas, tied her career high 23 points in TCU's 70-58 win over Texas-Arlington. It marked the second consecutive game she scored 20+ points. The junior also had a career-high four steals in the game.
For the week, Lacy averaged 23.0 points and seven rebounds, while collecting four assists and four steals. She shot 70 percent from the field (7-for-10) and was 9-for-11 from the free-throw line (.818).
