Cowgirl Basketball Faces Boise State to Begin Road Swing

The Wyoming women's basketball team begins a two-game road swing on Saturday against the Boise State Broncos. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT at Taco Bell Arena in Boise. Live stats, audio and video can be found on the women's basketball Gameday Central page located on GoWyo.com.

The Cowgirls enter this weekend's match-up with a 6-7 mark and 1-2 in conference action after a disappointing 58-55 loss against Colorado State on Wednesday night. Three Cowgirls finished the night in double-digits led by junior guard Marquelle Dent. She finished with a game-high 19 points along with four rebounds and four assists. Senior guard Kaitlyn Mileto recorded 13 points followed by senior forward Kayla Woodward with 10 points and 10 rebounds. For Woodward, she reached 1,500 points for her career and now has 1,508. Junior guard Jordan Kelley had a game-high 11 rebounds. Wyoming shot 14-of-51 (.275) from the field and 6-of-19 (.316) from beyond the arc.

Dent leads the way averaging 17.5 points, 5.8 assists and 1.9 steals. Woodward follows with a team-high 8.1 rebounds plus 14.4 points, while Mileto is adding 11.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 320-of-815 (.393) from the field and 95-of-285 (.333) from the beyond the arc.

Boise State is 10-3 overall and 2-0 in league play. Senior guard Deanna Weaver leads the way with a team high 13.5 points plus 5.9 rebounds. Senior center Camille Redmon is averaging a team-high 6.3 rebounds and adding 6.6 points per game. The Broncos average 71.9 points compared to 58.1 points for their opponents. This will be the 15th meeting between the two schools. The series is tied a seven all. The last time the two teams met was March 11, 2014 in the quarterfinals of the MW tournament. The Cowgirls earned a 61-56 victory in Las Vegas. Boise State is coached by Gordy Presnell who is in his tenth season with the program.
