The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball will close out the week at home as they host the Boise State Broncos. The game is set for Saturday, January 11, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Live stats, audio and video can be found through the women's basketball Gameday Central page located on the www.gowyo.com website.
Wyoming is 10-3 overall and 1-1 in MW action after a disappointing 75-65 loss against New Mexico on Wednesday night. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 17.2 points plus 7.1 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 15.3 points and a team high 9.1 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 13.2 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 4.4 assists plus 9.8 points per game.
As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 338-811 (.417) from the field while averaging 41.2 rebounds and 73.2 points per game. Wyoming is third in the league in assists, field goal and three-point percentage and scoring offense.
Boise State enters the week 6-7 overall and 1-1 in MW play. Last time out, they defeated San Diego State, 73-64, on Wednesday night. The Broncos are led by Miquelle Askew who is averaging a team high 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds. Lexie Der follows with 10.4 points and 6.3 boards per contest. They return three starters and five letterwinners to a team that went 11-19 overall and 4-12 in the MW last year.
This will be 12th meeting between the two schools. Boise State leads the series 6-5. The last time the two teams met was February 9, 2013 as the Cowgirls defeated the Broncos, 77-60, in Laramie. They are coached by Gordy Presnell who is in his ninth season with the program.
