    The Cowgirl basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 22, as they host the Air Force Academy Falcons. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.

    Wyoming is currently 13-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play after a 19-point win, 70-51, over Seattle on Wednesday night. Aubrey Vandiver is leading the team in scoring and rebounding with 17.7 points and 9.4 rebounds, while Hillary Carlson is adding 17.4 points and 7.3 rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting .427 (399-934) from the field, 127-358 (.355) from beyond the arc and 186-267 (.697) from the charity stripe.

    Carlson ranks first in blocked shots, third in scoring and field goal percentage while being eighth in rebounding in the Mountain West Conference. Vandiver is among the Top 12 in points, rebounds, assists, minutes played, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage while senior Jade Kennedy is first in assist/turnover ratio, second in minutes played and fifth in assists.

    The Falcons are currently 6-11 overall and 1-3 in the MWC after earning a 61-58 win over San Diego State on Wednesday night. They are led by Raimee Beck who is averaging a team leading 12.4 points while adding 5.8 rebounds per game. She is followed by Dymond James who is adding 9.8 points and a team leading 7.6 rebounds. They return two starters and ten letterwinners to a team that went 3-27 overall and 0-16 in the MWC last year.

    This is the 38th meeting between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 35-2. The last time the two teams was March 3, 2010 as the Cowgirls defeated the Falcons, 87-60, in Colorado Springs. Air Force is coached by Andrea Williams who is in her first season with the program.
