Wyoming's Bacon Named MWC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Wyoming forward Carrie Bacon was named Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, marking her second career award.

A 6-0 senior from Colorado Springs, Colo. (Harrison HS), Bacon recorded her 23rd career double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 71-58 upset of New Mexico. She connected on 8-of-13 field goals, including 2-of-2 from three-point territory, and hit all eight of her free throws. In a 68-53 victory over Air Force, Bacon was 5-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, finishing the game with 15 points and seven boards. For the week, Bacon averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 59.1 percent from the field (13-22), 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (2-3) and 92.9 percent (13-14) from the free throw line.
