With sole possession of first place on the line, the only two undefeated teams in Mountain West Conference play will face one another on Wednesday night in the Arena Auditorium when the Wyoming Cowgirls host the Utah Utes. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.

"Utah is a very talented team and is also very well coached. It will be a challenge for us to slow them down."
Wyoming is currently 18-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play after a 68-55 victory over Colorado State on Saturday afternoon. They are currently ranked 15th in the Associated Press Poll and 16th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll. Senior Hanna Zavecz leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 14.7 points and in assists with 3.9 per game, which ranks fourth in the MWC. She is followed by fellow senior Justyna Podziemska who is adding 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, while Aubrey Vandiver is chipping in 11.5 points and a team leading 6.6 rebounds per game. The Cowgirls are leading the MWC in scoring defense allowing just 51.6 per contest, blocked shots (5.4 bpg) and assist/turnover ratio (298/253, 1.18). They are also shooting .426 (426-999) from the field, .334 (130-389) from beyond the arc and .698 (263-377) from the free throw line.
Utah is currently 16-3 overall and 5-0 in the Mountain West Conference after a 60-50 victory over TCU this past weekend. The Utes are led by Morgan Warburton who is averaging a team leading 17.4 points and 5.8 rebounds. She is followed by Leilani Mitchell who is adding 17.3 points and 3.8 rebounds. They return three starters and seven letterwinners to a team that went 19-14 overall and 10-6 in the Mountain West Conference a year ago. This is the 62nd meeting between the two schools. Utah leads the series 53-8. The last time the two teams met was March 3, 2007 as the Cowgirls defeated the Utes, 62-53, in Salt Lake City. Utah is coached by Elaine Elliott who is in her 25th season with the program.
