Also on Saturday, the UW Athletics Department is hosting the ninth annual Take a Kid to the Game carnival in conjunction with the NCAA in the War Memorial Fieldhouse. The event starts at noon and will include a special appearance by the official mascot of NCAA Basketball, JJ Jumper, plus games and prizes for everyone.

The Cowgirls will enter this game with a 10-9 overall record and 2-4 in Mountain West Conference play after earning a 52-41 victory over the Air Force Academy Falcons, on Wednesday night. They return two starters and 12 letterwinners to a team that went 13-16 overall and 7-9 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 65th meeting between the two teams. BYU leads the series 45-19. The last time the two teams met was March 5, 2008 as the Cowgirls defeated BYU, 68-34, in Laramie. The Cougars are coached by Jeff Judkins who is in his eighth season overall.
