Wyoming guard Ashley Elliott was named Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, marking her first career award.
A 5-7 sophomore from Flagstaff, Ariz. (Sinagua HS), Elliott led the Cowgirls to a 69-64 overtime victory vs. Colorado State by scoring a career-high 24 points, including seven of the team's 10 points in the extra period. She shot 57.1 percent from the field (8-of-14), 50 percent (4-of-8) from three-point territory and was perfect from the free throw line (4-of-4). She also added six rebounds and three assists. Elliott currently ranks third in the MWC for free throw percentage at 86.4 and is Wyoming's second-leading scorer at 11.4 points per contest.
