Cowgirl Basketball Faces Tough Road Game Against San Diego State

For the only time this season, the Wyoming basketball team will face the San Diego State Aztecs, on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The game is set to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. MT in San Diego. The Cowgirls are 15-6 overall and 6-4 in MW action after an 82-56 victory over the UNLV Lady Rebels on Saturday afternoon. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 17.4 points plus 7.0 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 14.9 points and a team high 9.6 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 13.9 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 4.5 assists plus 9.7 points per game. In league games, Woodward is third in scoring (17.9 ppg) and tenth in rebounding (6.9 rpg). Mileto is currently fifth in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while Lewis leads the league in rebounding with 10.0 per game.

Wyoming is third in the league in scoring offense (73.9 ppg), scoring defense (65.6 ppg) and assists (15.6 aspg). They are also shooting 543-1281 (.424) from the field and 134-396 (.338) from beyond the arc, which are third and fourth respectively. In Mountain West games, they are second in scoring offense, fourth in scoring defense and assists, fifth in rebounding and three-point field goal percentage.

SDSU is currently 8-12 overall and 5-5 in the MW. Last time out, the Aztecs fell to Nevada 84-65. They are led by Cierra Warren who is averaging 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds. Ariell Bostick follows with 10.1 points plus 3.0 rebounds. They return one starter and six letterwinners to a team that went 27-7 overall and 15-1 in the MW a year ago.

This will be 48th meeting between the two schools. UW leads the series 24-23. The last time the two teams met was Feb. 20, 2013 with the Aztecs coming out on top 57-51 in Laramie. SDSU is coached by Stacie Terry who is in her first season with the program.
