The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team returns home for a match-up against the New Mexico Lobos, on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium.

The Cowgirls will enter the game with a 15-8 overall record and a 6-5 mark in conference play after a 78-59 loss against TCU the last time out. Three Cowgirls are scoring in double-figures so far led by junior Hillary Carlson who is averaging a team leading 15.3 points and 2.6 blocks per game. She is followed by fellow junior Aubrey Vandiver with 13.3 points and a team leading 9.8 rebounds per game, while Emma Langford is adding 11.9 points and 3.3 assists.
Carlson is first in blocks, fourth in scoring and 11th in rebounding while being ranked fourth in free throw percentage and fifth in field goal percentage in the Mountain West Conference. Vandiver ranks among the Top 15 in points, rebounds, steals, field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage and minutes played, while Langford is 12th in assists and 14th in scoring.
The Lobos are currently 14-9 overall and 6-5 in the MWC after a 52-49 loss against Utah on Saturday. They are led by Amy Beggin who is averaging 13.5 points per game, along with four rebounds. Jessica Kielpinski is leading the way with six rebounds, while adding 7.2 points per game.
They welcome back three starters and nine letterwinners to a team that went 25-11 overall and 9-7 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 59th meeting between the two teams. New Mexico leads the series 34-24. The last time the two teams met was January 16, 2010 as the Lobos defeated the Cowgirls 74-61 in Albuquerque. New Mexico is coached by Don Flanagan who is in his 15th season with the program.
