In their only game of the week, the Wyoming women's basketball team will be at home as they battle the Colorado State Rams, on Thursday night, at 7:00 p.m. in Laramie.
The Cowgirls enter this week's competition with an overall record of 14-10 and 5-6 in the MWC after a split with San Diego State and UNLV last week on the road. Wyoming is currently led by senior Ashley Elliott, who is averaging 17.4 points and 4.1 assists per game. She is followed closely by Hanna Zavecz with 14.5 points and 6.6 rebounds and guard Erin Hicks with 10.7 points and a team leading 7.3 rebounds. As a team, they are shooting 498-1290 (.386) from the field and 314-421 (.746) from the charity stripe, while averaging 62.0 points per game.
Colorado State enters the week with an 14-9 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the MWC. The Rams are led by Melissa Dennett, who is averaging 14.2 points and eight rebounds per game. As a team, CSU is shooting 553-1300 (.425) from the field and averaging 65.0 points per game. They return three starters and ten letterwinners to a team that went 17-12 overall and 8-6 in the MWC a year ago.
This will be the 71st meeting between the two schools. Colorado State leads the series, 40-30. The last time the two schools met was Jan. 28, 2005 when the Rams defeated the Cowgirls, 61-51, in Ft. Collins.
