Cowgirl Basketball Faces Utah State on Tuesday in Logan

The Wyoming women's basketball team will make its final regular conference season road trip taking on the Utah State Aggies on Tuesday night. The Cowgirls enter Tuesday's contest with a 14-12 mark and 9-7 in league play after a dominating 99-68 victory over UNLV on Saturday Senior forward Kayla Woodward recorded a team-high 23 points along with eight rebounds. Senior guard Kaitlyn Mileto followed with 21 points while shooting 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Junior guard Marquelle Dent recorded her third double-double of her career with 20 points and a season-high ten assists. With those ten assists, Dent moved into seventh place all-time in assists with 336. Junior guard Jordan Kelley finished with a team-high nine rebounds.

Dent leads the way averaging 17.3 points, 6.3 assists and 2.3 steals. Woodward follows with a team-high 7.4 rebounds plus 15.6 points. Mileto is averaging 12.2 points while Kelley is adding 7.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in her 26 contests this season. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 638-of-1531 (.417) from the field, 201-of-539 (.373) from the beyond the arc and 314-of-445 (.706) from the charity stripe.

The Aggies are 8-20 overall and 5-11 in league play. Last time out, the Aggies defeated Air Force Falcons, 84-50, on Saturday afternoon. Freshman guard Funda Nakkasoglu leads the way with 16.7 points per contest along with 2.8 rebounds. Senior guard Elise Nelson is averaging a team-high 6.6 rebounds while adding four points. Utah State averages 63.8 points per game compared to 70.0 points for its opponents.

This will be the 23rd meeting between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 15-7. The last time the two teams met was January 28, 2015. The Cowgirls defeated Utah State 86-51 in Laramie. Utah State is coached by Jerry Finkbeiner who is in his third season with the program.
