Wyoming Basketball's Sewell Earns Co-MW Player of the Week Honors

March 11, 2013

For the third time this season, senior forward Chaundra Sewell was named Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from March 5-10, 2013. It is her third MW weekly accolade of the season and of her career. She earned the honor with UNLV forward Rejane Verin.

Sewell, a senior from Broomfield, Colo., led the Cowgirls to a 65-51 win over Colorado State last week, the Wyoming's only game of the week. Sewell scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. The double-double was her 11th of the season. She shot 60.0 percent (9-15) from the field and was 4-6 (66.7 percent) from the free throw line to go along with two assists and a steal.
