The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team received an invitation to the 2010 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) on Monday evening. Wyoming will host the Nevada WolfPack on Friday, March 19, at 7 p.m. in a WNIT First Round Game Presented by Laramie GM Auto Center. Wyoming is returning to the WNIT for the first time since 2007 when the Cowgirls won the WNIT National Championship.

Tickets to Friday's game will go on sale on-line at 10 p.m. Monday evening at WyomingAthletics.com and at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning through the University of Wyoming Athletics Ticket Office. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $8 for children and $6 for UW students. Cowgirl Basketball season-ticket holders who wish to reserve their regular-season seats must either call the UW Athletics Ticket Office or drop by the ticket office prior to noon on the day of the game. Season-ticket holders will not be able to reserve their regular-season seats on-line through WyomingAthletics.com. The UW Athletics Ticket Office phone numbers are: (800) 922-9461 or (307) 766-4850. Tickets may also be purchased at the Brown and Gold Outlet in Laramie.

This year's WNIT appearance by the Cowgirls marks the fourth postseason tournament berth in head coach Joe Legerski's seven seasons at Wyoming. UW will be playing in the WNIT for the third time during Legerski's tenure, advancing to the Second Round in 2006 and winning the 2007 WNIT title. Wyoming also earned the school's first-ever bid to the NCAA Women's Tournament in 2008.

"I'm excited as is our team to be selected to participate in the WNIT," said UW head coach Joe Legerski. "To be a part of the postseason four out of the last five years is quite an accomplishment for the Wyoming women's basketball program. The ability to host a game also shows the commitment of the Wyoming fans to this program."

The 2010 Postseason WNIT has been expanded to 64 teams -- 16 teams more than the previous 48-team format. First Round games will be played over a three-day period Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 17-19. The entire schedule for this year's WNIT is as follows:
