For the first time in school history, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will be a part of NCAA post season play as it was selected to participate in the 2008 Women's NCAA Tournament. "It was a long hour for our name to appear," said UW head coach Joe Legerski. "We knew that the seeds were limited and I was extremely pleased when our name came up on the board. I'm happy for our players, staff and the fans of Wyoming."

The Cowgirls, who enter the tournament as an 11th seed, will play their first round game Saturday, March 22, against the sixth seeded Pittsburgh Panthers out of the Big East Conference. It Wyoming-Pittsburgh game will follow the third seeded Baylor Bears and 14th seeded Fresno State Bulldogs game that will tip off at noon.
