University of Wyoming senior basketball players Jenny Lazzeri and Rebecca Tomlin have been named to the GTE Academic All-District VII Team. They now become eligible for the GTE Academic All-American Team.
Jenny Lazzeri, a senior from Lakewood, Colo., has accumulated a 4.0 grade point average in elementary education. She is a two-time Academic All-WAC and WAC-Scholar Athlete selection, along with being named to the GTE Academic All-District Second Team last season. She has also maintained a perfect 4.0 every semester while attending the University of Wyoming. Lazzeri finished the season as the Cowgirls leading rebounder with 6.7 rebounds, in addition to 9.6 points per contest.
Rebecca Tomlin, a senior from Las Animas, Colo., has accumulated a 3.97 grade point average in elementary education. She is also a two-time Academic All-WAC and WAC-Scholar Athlete selection. Tomlin finished the season as the Cowgirls second leading scorer with 11.2 points per contest, along with the addition of 5.9 rebounds.
