CENTENNIAL, Colo. -
The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network, in partnership with the University of Wyoming Athletics Department, will air the third-round women's basketball WNIT match-up between the BYU Cougars and Wyoming Cowgirls on Thursday, March 24 beginning at 7 p.m. MT.
Live pre-game coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. MT. Halftime and postgame shows will also be part of the game presentation package.
Mike Evans will call play-by-play with Marty Fletcher providing expert analysis. Wyoming's athletics video department will provide the video feed of their four-camera Jumbotron production to The Mtn. via satellite uplink. Evans and Fletcher will be in the network's Centennial, Colo. studios and call the game from there.
"We felt that the devoted fans of BYU and Wyoming women's basketball deserved to see their teams play in the third round of the WNIT," said Steve Hurlbut, senior executive producer and director of programming for The Mtn. "With less than 48 hours between games and facing other logistical obstacles, staging a full-blown production wasn't possible. We've utilized this method once previously, ironically for a BYU at Wyoming women's basketball game, so we're confident the technology is sound."
