LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming women's basketball assistant coach Pat Moran has accepted a position as the Director of Intramural Sports at the University.
Moran has been an assistant with the Cowgirl Basketball program for the past eight years.
"I really enjoyed my coaching experience at the University of Wyoming and would like to thank everyone who gave me the opportunity," said Moran. "For family reasons, I decided it was time for a career change and when the Intramural Sports position opened, I decided the time was now. I look forward to continuing the University of Wyoming Intramural sports programs at a high level, and remaining a co-director with the summer Cowgirl basketball camps. I am especially pleased to continue my work at the University of Wyoming and in the community where I grew up."
"I am very happy for Pat," said UW head women's basketball coach Cindy Fisher. "I know he has been interested in the intramural director's position for a longtime, having been involved in that program for many years. I enjoyed this past year working with Pat and felt that he did a fantastic job. Although, I will miss him being a part of my coaching staff, I am very happy that they allowed him to continue to co-direct the Cindy Fisher Wyoming Cowgirl basketball camps. He has done an outstanding job with camp, and I know that this years camps will be stronger and more exciting than ever."
"The Athletic Department would like to thank Pat for all his loyalty and dedication over the past eight years," said Athletic Director Lee Moon. "We wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor, and are very pleased that he will remain involved in the University and community."
