Cowgirls Hire New Assistant Coach

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head women'sbasketball coach Cindy Fisher, Tuesday, announced the hiring of BlainePatterson as an Assistant Coach with the Cowgirl program. His hiring issubject to UW Board of Trustee approval.

His duties will include the day-to-day basketball operations,academics, recruiting, and preparing scouting reports.

Patterson joins the Cowgirl coaching staff after spending the last fourseasons as a basketball manager and administrative assistant with theWyoming Cowboy basketball program.

As an administrative assistant, he assisted with on campus recruiting,film exchange and other administrative duties. He also assisted inorganizing all recruiting mail outs and helped the coaching staff inpreparation for practices and games.

Patterson founded and organized "The Sixth Man Club" and has beenactively involved in planning and administering the University ofWyoming Cowboy Summer Basketball Camps. He has also been active inworking other summer camps in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota andSouth Dakota.

Prior to Wyoming, he spent two years at Southwest State University inMarshall, Minn., where he was a student assistant. He completed hisbachelor's degree in physical education from Wyoming in May of 2001.

"Blaine is going to bring a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm,"said head coach Cindy Fisher. "His work ethic and organization hasproven to be extremely beneficial to the University. I know he is eagerto implement some of his ideas into the Cowgirl program. I am veryexcited to have him be a part of my staff."
