Bacon Earns NCAA DIVISION I KODAK/WBCA All-America Honorable Mention

Laramie, Wyoming -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The Eastman Kodak Company announced the finalists for the 2003 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Women's Basketball Team and senior Carrie Bacon was among them.

WBCA member coaches of the Kodak/WBCA All-America Selection Committee in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select the Kodak/WBCA All-America Team. Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as an amateur sport for women and girls.

Bacon led the Cowgirls in scoring (14.8 points per game), rebounds (6.4 rebounds per game), field goals made (5.3 made per game), field goal attempts (10.8 attempted per game) and three-point percentage (.409) during the 2002-03 season. She also ranked among the top 10 in conference categories as she finished fifth in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage, seventh in free throw percentage and tenth in steals.

Bacon also finished her career as one of the top players in Cowgirl history. A 2002-03 Second Team All-Mountain West Conference Selection for the second year in a row, she earned All-Conference honors in both the Western Athletic and Mountain West Conferences during her career. During her sophomore year, she was named First Team All-Conference for the Mountain West Conference, along with earning Second Team All-Conference honors and selections to the All-Newcomer team for the Western Athletic Conference as a freshman. For her career, Bacon ranks among the Top 15 in nine of 12 career categories in school history. She ranks second in free throws made and free throw attempts, third in steals, fourth in field goals made and field goal attempts, eighth in rebounds with 761 and eighth in games played with 112. She is also one of 13 players in school history to reach the 1,000 point mark and with 1692 points ranks fourth all-time.
