Cowgirl Basketball Fills Remaining Scholarship

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Cowgirl headbasketball coach Cindy Fisher today announced the signing of astudent-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the Universityof Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2002. Here is the signee:

Lorissa Ewing, 6-2, Power Forward, Stockton, Calif.:
An HonorableMention All-Area selection as a senior at St. Mary's High School inStockton, Calif. She was a member of the California Division II StateChampionship Team that went 33-3 overall this past season. Her teamfinished the season ranked 42nd in the country. While at St. Mary's,she also lettered in volleyball and track and field. Ewing was coachedby Tom Consalves. Prior to that, she spent three years at Carl HaydenHigh School in Phoenix, Ariz. and was a teammate of current CowgirlKelly McRee. Recruited by Cal State-Northridge and San Jose State, amongothers.

"Lorissa is going to be a great asset to the University of Wyoming andthe women's basketball program," said head coach Cindy Fisher. "Hersize, strength and athletic ability will help bring depth to our postgame. I'm also excited about the opportunities she has to be an impactplayer in the Mountain West Conference."
