Fisher Hires New Coach

University of Wyoming head women'sbasketball coach Cindy Fisher, Monday, announced hiring of Lisa Robinsonas an Associate Head Coach. Her hiring is subject to UW Board of Trusteeapproval.

Robinson joins the Cowgirl coaching staff after spending the last twoseasons as the head women's basketball coach at Augustana College inRock Island, Illinois.

Robinson began her college career as a student-athlete at theUniversity of Illinois in Champaign. She was a four-year letterwinnerfor the Fighting Illini in basketball. While at Illinois, she was also atwo-time Kodak Honorable Mention All-American in 1980 and 1981, and aKodak Region Five All-America First Team selection in 1982. A First TeamGTE Academic All-American in 1982, she graduated from Illinois with abachelor's degree in Physical Education in 1983. She completed hermaster's degree in Special Education from Illinois State (Normal) in2000.

Robinson began her professional coaching career at Illinois State as anassistant coach in 1983 until 1995. She was elevated to Associate HeadCoach in 1995 and held that position until 1998. While at IllinoisState, she coordinated the recruiting effort, as well as analyzed andprepared scouting reports.

In 1998, Robinson was hired as the head coach at Normal Community HighSchool. From 1999 through this season, she had been the head coach at AugustanaCollege.

In addition to her coaching duties, Robinson has been very active inpublic and community service in the basketball world. She has been acounselor and active speaker for several basketball camps, clinics andcommunity functions.
