A Season of Gold, the Cowgirls' Run to the WNIT Championship chronicles the amazing season of the 2006-07 Cowgirls. While many outstanding Cowgirl teams and individuals competed under the radar for so long, this season brought national recognition and prominence to the program, the University and the state of Wyoming. In the process, these outstanding players and individuals shattered every Cowgirl attendance record during their six-game run to the title, including a crowd of over 15,000 for the championship win over the University of Wisconsin. The improbable championship run included four victories over major conferences, two wins over the Big 12 Conference (Missouri and Kansas State), one win over the PAC-10 (Oregon) and the title win over the Big 10 (Wisconsin).
Wyoming finished with a 27-9 overall record and 11-5 in the Mountain West Conference. Junior Hanna Zavecz earned First Team All-Conference for the second year in a row, while forward Justyna Podziemska was named to Second Team All-Conference and garnered Newcomer of the Year honors in her first season with the Cowgirls.
