Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball Hires Nikki Stratton

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head women's basketball coach Joe Legerski, Monday, announced the hiring of Nikki Stratton as the Director of Audio Visual/Website with the Cowgirl program. Her duties officially began on July 1, 2010.

"We are pleased to add Nikki to our staff," said Legerski. "She brings enthusiasm and experience from the Division I level to our program."

Stratton comes to Wyoming after spending the last three years at Washington State University both as an assistant to the Director of Basketball Operations and the Director of Video Operations. She was in charge of film breakdown, film exchange and highlight films. As an assistant to the Director of Operations, she was the alumni liaison sending out monthly correspondence for current activities and upcoming events. During that time, she also was the camp and tournament director for free Cougar camps and organized and ran the WSU Cougar Clash Tournament for surrounding Washington High Schools.

A native of Colorado, she earned her degree in sports management for Washington State in 2007. She went on to earn her master's in education with an emphasis in sports marketing in 2009 from there as well.

She began her college basketball career as a student-athlete at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. A three-year letterwinner for the Cougars, she played in 36 games with six starts, while averaging 3.4 points per game.
