The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball Team will be featured three times on either CSTV or the mtn. (Mountain West Sports Network)during the 2006-07 basketball season announced on Thursday by the Mountain West Conference.
Two Cowgirl home games will be a part of the 2006-07 television schedule on the mtn., while one road game will be a part of CSTV's national package. Wyoming's home games against the New Mexico Lobos, on Thursday, Jan. 4, and the Colorado State Rams, on Sunday, Feb. 25, will be telecast regionally. The Cowgirls road game against UNLV on Thursday, Jan. 11 will be broadcast on CSTV. Also included on the mtn. will be the entire Mountain West Conference Championships.
Twenty-five games will be shown on the Mountain West Sports Network - the mtn., with seven games to be broadcast live nationally on CSTV: College Sports Television. A total of 15 conference match ups will be televised on the mtn.
The television schedule tips off Friday, Nov. 10, with BYU hosting Idaho State in the first round of the WNIT and Pepperdine visiting UNLV, Sunday, Nov. 12. Conference play begins Wednesday, Jan. 3, with UNLV facing TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
Today's television announcement reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of the mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network. The mtn. is the first ever 24-hour sports network devoted exclusively to a single conference. The mtn. will not only broadcast live games, but will air a variety of studio shows, including pre and post-game shows, which break down MWC games, look ahead to the big games on the horizon and feature extensive game highlights.
