Inside Wyoming Women's Basketball with Daley Handy

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Q: When did you start playing basketball and who inspired you the most to continue your career?
A: I started playing as soon as I could pick up a basketball. The person who inspired me the most was my dad. He would always come home with different college basketball posters, and I would put them on my ceiling above my bed. All I ever wanted was to be on one of those posters one day so it’s a real honor to be able to play for the University of Wyoming.

Q: What aspect of playing Division 1 basketball for the University of Wyoming are you most excited about?
A: I’m most excited about being able to put on the brown and gold jersey to represent this great school and state.

Q: What was your proudest moment while at Maize High School?
A: My proudest moment was just getting to play for my dad, playing with my little sister, and having the opportunity to compete with my best friend every day in practice.

Q: If you could meet any basketball player, past or present, who would it be and why?
A: Scottie Pippen, because he was always the type of player I always wanted to be like. With great court awareness and amazing defense, it would be a dream to meet such a legend.

Q: What are some of your superstitions or rituals you do before a basketball game?
A: I say a prayer before every game. I think getting to play basketball every day is a dream come true, so I just ask God to help me play every game like it’s my last.
