Cowgirl Basketball To Open Up Fall Drills

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming CowgirlBasketball Team and Head Coach Cindy Fisher will officially open uppractice for the upcoming season on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Cowgirls will have their first practice on Saturday morning from8-11 a.m., and then Saturday night from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Both practiceswill take place in the Arena Auditorium, and are open to the public.

"I am really looking forward to practice starting," said coach Fisher."Unlike last year, when we had so many new faces, we have a lot ofreturning players who have put in a great summer and pre-season. Thisgroup is incredibly committed and excited to get going. I am also happywith where we are mentally and physically going into Saturday, and lookforward to great things from this group."

Wyoming returns three starters and eight letterwinners from last year'steam that went 10-18 overall and 4-10 in the conference. They alsowelcome four newcomers to this year's squad.

The 2000-01 season will open up with two exhibition games on Nov. 9 and13 against Northern Colorado and Metro State, and the regular season onNov. 18 at home against Chadron State. The Cowgirls schedule includessix home non-conference games and seven conference match-ups.
