"There is a lot of anticipation as we begin a new season of Cowboy and Cowgirl basketball," said UW Athletics Director Tom Burman. "We are very proud of where the Cowgirls are, especially after being picked to win the Mountain West Conference. I have a great deal of confidence that Coach Schroyer and his Cowboy team will put an exciting product on the floor."
There are new opportunities for both Cowboy and Cowgirl fans interested in single-game tickets this season. Cowboy fans can take advantage of the sale of a mini plan. In the mini plan, fans can purchase tickets to any three MWC games and receive a free ticket to the Colorado-Wyoming game on Sat., Dec. 8 in the Arena-Auditorium. Reserved single game seats at Cowgirl games will also be available for the first time this season.
"Fans will enjoy the different ticket packages we are offering for both the men and women this season," said UW Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations Bill Hamilton. "Season tickets are still available and we are excited to offer more options to our fans."
The Cowgirls will open the 2007-08 season on Fri., Nov. 2 with an exhibition game against Chadron State at 7 p.m. The Cowboys will begin play the following day against Regis on Sat., Nov. 3 at 3:30 p.m.
