LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The new coaching era of Cindy Fisher at the University of Wyoming officially begins Saturday, 10/17, when the Cowgirl basketball team begins pre-season drills.

Fisher was hired last March as Wyomings fifth head hoop coach. She welcomes eight letterwinners from last years team, including four starters, that finished 10-17 overall and 5-9 in the conference.

The Cowgirls will practice once on Saturday (12-3) and Sunday (4-7) and begin once-a-day workouts on Monday. The Cowgirls will go once-a-day each day, and have a rotating off day.

Fisher has felt good about her teams pre-season conditioning and now is looking forward to seeing what they can do on the court.

"Im really excited to get going," said Fisher. "The girls have been working really hard these past weeks during their individual workouts. Theyre ready to get out on the court, and see what they are like as a unit and not just as individuals."

The Cowgirls open up their exhibition season on November 2nd at the Double A, and the regular season on Nov. 13th hosting Creighton.
