LARAMIE, Wyo. -
In an effort to increase season-ticket sales for men's and women's basketball, the University of Wyoming Athletics Department has created a "More-Than-a-Fan" referral and incentive program for current and new basketball season-ticket holders.
Both the Cowgirls and Cowboys open their respective seasons this weekend. Joe Legerski's Cowgirls host Denver University Friday (Nov. 12) at 7 p.m., while Heath Schroyer and the Cowboys unveil their 2010-11, season Saturday, hosting Kean University at 8 p.m.
If a men's season-ticket holder refers a friend to buy Cowboy season tickets, that fan will receive a "More-Than-a-Fan" t-shirt. If a Cowgirl season-ticket holder refers someone to buy season tickets or purchase at least one additional season ticket, that fan will receive a "Cowgirls-for-Three" scroll to display at games. Season-ticket holders can expect to receive a referral program packet via mail in the coming days.
The athletics department also has unveiled a new incentive program for season-ticket holders. Season-ticket holders will receive discounts at selected games on concession items as well as at the Brown and Gold outlet located in the Arena-Auditorium.
Season tickets for both men's and women's basketball may be purchased at the UW ticket office, located in the Double A; online at Wyomingathletics.com, or by calling 877-WYO-FAN1. Men's season tickets are $176, and women's tickets are $122.
