University of Wyoming sophomorebasketball player Lisa Glasser of Bismarck, N.D., suffered a torn anteriorcruciate ligament in her right knee this week in practice and will have toundergo surgery. She will likely be lost for the season. Glasser does havea redshirt year available to her.
"Lisa had worked very hard this summer in preparation for thisseason," said UW head women's basketball coach Cindy Fisher. "She washaving an excellent fall, and really played well in our first exhibitiongame of the season (she scored 23 points and grabbed 20 rebounds). We werevery excited about her potential.
"This is hard on Lisa and on our team, but Lisa loves the game andis a very positive person. I know she is already looking forward to the daywhen she can get back on the court."
Glasser started 13 of 27 games in the 1997-98 season. She averaged3.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as a freshman.
