Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball Inks Three Student-Athletes

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Joe Legerski today announced the signing of three student-athletes to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2015.

"We are excited about signing Daley, Coreen and Rachelle," Legerski said. "These are three young players that met a goal of improving our team size and athleticism. They will continue the tradition of strong academics, leadership and high character within the Cowgirl basketball program."

Here are the signees:

Daley Handy, 6-0, Guard/Forward, Wichita, Kan. (Maize High School): A four-time letterwinner while attending Maize High School. She is a three-time All-League selection, while being named First Team All-State and Honorable Mention All-State during her career. As a junior, she averaged ten points, 5.2 rebounds and four assists, while being named to the Blue Star Report "Players to Watch" list. She has helped her team to three league championships. The team finished second in the state in 2014, third in 2012 and fourth in 2013. Handy was also named to the 6A State All-Tournament Team. Besides basketball, she also lettered in track and field. She was an All-League and All-State selection, along with being named an All-American by USA Track and Field in the heptathlon. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, while being involved in several scholastic activities. She is the daughter of Jerrod and Dana Handy, and has one sibling, Jacey.

Coreen Labish, 6-2, Forward, Spokane, Wash. (Mead High School): A four-year letterwinner in basketball while attending Cheney and Mead High Schools. During her freshman and sophomore campaigns, she was named Most Improved in 2012, First Team All-League and All-State in 2013. As a junior, Labish averaged 8.5 points, six rebounds and two blocks, while as a sophomore she averaged 13 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks. She finished with a career high 28 points at the End of the Trail River City Tournament. She was coached in high school by Quantae Anderson. She is the daughter of Tim and Debi Labish. Has one sister, Jessica.

Rachelle Tucker, 6-2, Forward, Pierce, Neb. (Pierce High School): A two-time All-Area and All-Conference selection while attending Pierce High School. She was named Class C All-State, Third Team All-Nebraska and Max Preps All-Class. She helped her team to a 46-8 record overall the last two seasons. Tucker was also selected twice to the Class C All-State Tournament team. Besides basketball, she also lettered four years in softball. She was named Honorable Mention All-State and All-District three times. Tucker is coached by Darren Sindelar. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society and Principal's Honor Roll along with being named Academic All-State in softball and basketball. She is the daughter of Joe and Dawnn Tucker, and has one sister, Danielle.
