The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team will head out on the road for the first time this season as they take on the Creighton Bluejays, on Saturday, Nov. 20. Wyoming is currently 2-0 on the season with wins over Denver and Dickinson State over the last week. Hillary Carlson leads the way with 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. She is followed by Aubrey Vandiver who is adding 15.5 points and eight rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting .426 (49-115) from the field and out rebounding opponents 45.5 to 27.5.
The Bluejays are currently 1-2 overall this season so far. They have a victory over Liberty with their losses coming against Bowling Green and North Carolina State. CU is led by Kelsey Woodard who is averaging 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. She is followed by Carli Tritz who is adding 8.7 points and five rebounds. They return three starters and six letterwinners to a team that went 21-11 overall, 13-5 in the Missouri Valley and made an appearance in the WNIT.
This is the 19th meeting between the two teams. Creighton leads the series 10-8. The last time the two teams met was Dec. 4, 1999 as the Bluejays defeated the Cowgirls, 74-62, in Omaha. Creighton is coached by Jim Flanery who is in his ninth season with the program.
