The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team will wrap up their current two-game road trip against the Wisconsin Badgers, on Tuesday, November 20, in Madison. The game is set to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
The last time the two teams met was March 31, 2007 in the championship game of the WNIT. Wyoming came away with a thrilling 72-56 victory in Laramie. This will be only the second meeting between the two teams, with the game last season being the first.
Wyoming is currently 3-0 overall after a 61-57 victory over the Saint Louis Billikens on Sunday afternoon. Justyna Podziemksa and Hanna Zavecz led the way with a game high 18 points, while Zavecz brought down a team high eight rebounds. The Cowgirls shot 18-46 (.391) from the field and 24-32 (.750) from the free throw line. Podziemska currently leads the team in scoring with 19 points, while Zavecz follows with 14 and Aubrey Vandiver with 10.7. Vandiver leads the team in rebounds with 7.3 per game.
The Badgers are currently 1-1 overall following a 67-53 loss against Marquette on Saturday afternoon. Wisconsin is led by Jolene Anderson who is averaging 29 points and 11 rebounds per game. Janese Banks is also adding 11.5 points and four rebounds. They return five starters and 13 letterwinners to a team that went 23-13 overall and 7-9 in the Big 10 Conference a year ago. Wisconsin is coached by Lisa Stone who is in her fifth season with the program.
