The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will host the Colorado Buffaloes, on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Laramie.
Wyoming is currently 2-1 overall after a split last week with Northern Colorado and Kansas State. They are led by junior Jodi Bolerjack, who is averaging 17.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. She is shooting 13-16 (.813) from the three-point line and has a current streak of 13 three-point field goals made. Hanna Zavecz follows with 14 points per game, while Justyna Podziemska is adding 12 points and a team leading seven rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting 71-158 (.449) from the field and 29-65 (.446) from beyond the arc.
Colorado comes in the contest currently 2-1 overall with wins over San Francisco and Cal State Northridge. The Buffs are led by Jackie McFarland, who is averaging 21.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, along with Jasmina Ilic who is adding 11.7 points and 2.3 rebounds. They return three starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 9-21 overall and 3-13 in the Big 12 a year ago. The Cowgirls and the Buffs have met 42 previous times. Colorado leads the series 32-10. The last time the two teams met was November 21, 2005 when the Cowgirls defeated CU 66-50 in Boulder. They are coached by Kathy McConnell-Miller, who is in her second year with the program.
Following the game on Tuesday, the Cowgirls will then be on the road for the next four games. They will participate in the 20th Annual Coors Classic beginning on Friday, Nov. 24, as they face the Charlotte 49ers. The game is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Coors Events Center in Boulder, Colo.
